Waters of My Childhood, 2020
The artist returned to the lakes where she swam as a child, beginning with New Jersey where there was a large toxic algae bloom, and created landscapes within bottles of the lake water. She used the glass bottles as a “new lens” to photograph the landscapes. Exhibited at the galleries at William Paterson University Galleries, funded by a National Endowment for the Arts ArtPlace grant, 2020. This series of framed photographs on painted sheets of mylar were the centerpiece of the exhibition, Landscape is Sanctuary to our Fears.
